Brzdový systém je možné monitorovať pomocou brzdových prístrojov, ktoré sú zvyčajne umiestnené v kabíne motorového vozidla. Hlavný zásobník by mal byť vždy vysoký, do 8 barov a automaticky ho dopĺňa kompresor. Prevádzkové tlaky v brzdovom potrubí sú medzi 3,5 baru pri úplnom stlačení brzdy a 5 barov pri úplnom uvoľnení (keďže tlakomery zobrazujú tlaky relatívne k atmosférickému tlaku, skutočné absolútne tlaky sú približne o 1 bar vyššie, ako je uvedené na manometri). Tlak v brzdovom valci sa pohybuje medzi 0 a 3,75 baru a predstavuje skutočnú brzdnú silu pôsobiacu na kolesá.
