多單元

在 Derail Valley 中有兩種類型的多單元車輛 編組。一種是設計為永久連結的「固定編組」，如部分蒸汽機車 必須搭配煤水車 使用。另一種是「非固定編成」，即車輛連結 時，有著可選用的聯控跳線或無線聯控控制器 。要進行聯控，您需要「多單元車組」執照 。

僅有部分車輛配有聯控跳線，此資訊載於車輛目錄 。聯控跳線位於車輛兩端，類似氣軔軟管 ，能與另一車輛的同類纜線連接。

此類車輛也能安裝無線聯控控制器裝置 ，讓他們不需使用聯控跳線，而以無線方式進行同步。

When multiple-units are connected, whether by cable or wirelessly, they operate in unison, all controlled by a single driver, as if they were a single vehicle. This feature is available on some electric , diesel-electric and diesel-hydraulic motorized vehicles. The vehicles need to have their engines and breakers turned on individually for the MU connection to function properly.

It is allowed to have some vehicles in MU configuration oriented differently from others. In such a case their reverser automatically adapts to the desired direction of travel. Headlights and taillights automatically adapt in MU configurations, too.

請注意，使用不同類型的車輛進行聯控可能會造成出力不一致，並導致單一單元過熱、失去牽引力、消耗更多燃料或處與另一個單元不同狀態。為此，來自任何受影響單位的警報將傳播到所有進行聯控的儀表上。
