多單元

在 Derail Valley 中有兩種類型的多單元車輛 編組。一種是設計為永久連結的「固定編組」，如部分蒸汽機車 必須搭配煤水車 使用。另一種是「非固定編成」，即車輛連結 時，有著可選用的聯控跳線或無線聯控控制器 。要進行聯控，您需要「多單元車組」執照 。

支援「跳線聯控」的動力車輛在兩端各配備了一條藍色跳線。該跳線能似握手的方式與另一車輛的聯控跳線連結，類似於軔管的連結方式。當車輛的跳線相連時，它們將由單個機車駕駛室由單個司機員控制，並以一致的動作運轉，如同它們是同一車輛般。此功能可在部分電力、柴電和柴油液力機車或機動車輛上見到。個別車輛必須發動引擎並開啟斷路器，此功能才能正常運作。

Such vehicles can also be equipped with wireless MU controller gadgets , which let them sync at distance, without the use of cables.

When multiple-units are connected, whether by cable or wirelessly, they operate in unison, all controlled by a single driver, as if they were a single vehicle. This feature is available on some electric , diesel-electric and diesel-hydraulic motorized vehicles. The vehicles need to have their engines and breakers turned on individually for the MU connection to function properly.

It is allowed to have some vehicles in MU configuration oriented differently from others. In such a case their reverser automatically adapts to the desired direction of travel. Headlights and taillights automatically adapt in MU configurations, too.
