「轉車台」是上有一小段軌道的機械化設施，能夠與停放其上的鐵路車輛一同進行旋轉。它們通常位於調車站場附近，為站場空間有限時改變車輛方向的方式，或用以進入其周圍放射分布的扇形車庫等駐車軌道。
司機員將車輛駛上轉車台前必須確保轉車台已正確地與軌道對齊。司機員在進行旋轉之前還必須確保車輛完全位於轉車台範圍內並確實緊軔，且四周沒有任何障礙物。若操作不當，有可能對車輛造成嚴重損壞。
轉車台能夠透過四種方式進行操作：轉車台旁控制室中的操縱桿、手動推動轉車台末端的把手，依據所選擇的遊戲難度而定，也能透過滑鼠模式下的UI和鍵盤快捷鍵進行操作。
