軔機(即煞車)是安裝在軌道車輛上,用於使車輛減速、停下、或維持車輛靜止的裝置。動力車輛和其他軌道車輛通常搭載著幾種不同的軔機系統,這些不同的軔機系統各自適用於不同情境。它們能分別以位於駕駛室內或車輛外部的操縱桿或舵輪進行操作。
軔機控制裝置施加緊軔的操作方向幾乎總是遠離司機員。這樣一來,在緊急情況下司機員可以向前推動所有操縱桿,而無需考慮個別控制裝置的操作方向。
軔機系統的種類有:
