ダイナミックブレーキは、列車を減速させる際に機械式ブレーキを補助するために設計されたブレーキシステムです。
ブレーキシューの摩耗や過熱を防ぐために、ほとんどの機関車や鉄道車両には、発電ブレーキ、コンバーターブレーキ、エンジンブレーキなどの別の減速方法が搭載されています。これらのブレーキは、ブレーキシューの摩擦に頼らず、車両の駆動システムを減速の手段として利用するブレーキです。
