転車台は、機械化された構造の上にある短い線路のことで、その上に停車している鉄道車両とともに回転させることができます。一般的に車両基地の近くにあり、狭い場所で車両の向きを変えたり、扇形車庫のような放射状に配置された機留線にアクセスするためのものです。
運転士は、車両を転車台に乗せる前に、転車台が正しく位置決めされていることを確認する必要があります。また、回転を開始する前に、車両が完全に転車台内に位置し、障害物がないこと、ブレーキがかかっていることを確認する必要もあります。不適切な操作では、車両に重大な損傷を与える可能性があります。
転車台は 4 つの方法で操作できます。線路横の小部屋にあるレバーでの操作、線路端のロッドを手動で押す方法、セッションの難易度設定によっては、マウスモードの UI とキーボードショートカットによる方法です。
