Available types of vehicles, their characteristics and locations where they can be found are listed in a book called the vehicle catalog .

DVRT’s motorized rail vehicles are readily available for you to use, whether to complete delivery orders with, or otherwise. You can use any vehicle, and as many as you need, as long as you are licensed for them. Each category of vehicle requires a specific license to operate it.

You are responsible for servicing (repairing and refilling) the vehicles after use, however, with the help of the insurance system .

Apart from having DVRT vehicles at your disposal, you can also acquire private ones .

All motorized rail vehicles in Derail Valley are equipped with ID plates , displaying basic information about them.

Nearby motorized rail vehicles, or those that you've used before, can be seen on the world map and fast traveled to, depending on the difficulty settings .

In sandbox mode , also depending on session difficulty settings , it is possible to manually spawn motorized rail vehicles using the comms radio spawner mode . Some, however, need to be unlocked in career mode first, in order to become available.
