EOT Lantern

The end-of-train (EOT) lantern is a handheld item , serving as a weak omnidirectional red light source . A lighter is needed to turn it on. There is a knob on the side that controls the dipping of the wick in oil. This drives the light intensity and is also used to put the lantern out.

This lantern’s purpose is to serve as a taillight on vehicles that don’t have one integrated. It can be attached to any vehicle’s coupler , where it will stay safely secured for as long as the coupler isn’t tampered with.
