幾乎所有的軌道車輛側面都裝有車號牌，它用來顯示車輛形式、專屬車號、車況與被指派的工作編號等等相關資訊。如果車輛已裝載貨品，也會列出貨物類型及其貨況，這些數值會實時更新。
車輛上顯示的車號可用來在執行工作或瀏覽費用時，找到指定的車輛。
車號將以如「L-049」的格式顯示。於連字符號前的英文字母用於顯示該車輛的用途：
