HAZMAT cargo is cargo that consists of hazardous materials. In case of an accident, this cargo can induce significant damage , especially to the environment .
In order to take delivery orders involving HAZMAT cargo, you need an appropriate license . There are three tiers of HAZMAT licenses, each granting access to increasingly more dangerous cargo:
- Tier 1 - Flammable , asphyxiating and oxidizing materials
- Tier 2 - Explosive , corrosive and toxic materials
- Tier 3 - Biohazardous and radioactive materials
HAZMAT licenses need to be acquired successively, and require you to already own the Fragile license, which allows transporting cargo that is highly sensitive to collisions .
