The more recent motorized rail vehicles are equipped with breakers, to isolate and protect the separate electrical systems onboard. These systems, such as the Starter, Electrics and Traction Motors , can be toggled by breaker switches.
Starter – Enables engine ignition (only present on vehicles with internal combustion engines )
Electrics – Enables the electrical systems, such as the compressor , lights and wipers .
Traction Motors (TM) – Enables the traction motors (only present on vehicles with an electric powertrain ).
