Depending on the session difficulty settings, with the time of day and weather changing, outside temperature in Derail Valley may vary too. This factor can affect cooling properties of motorized rail vehicles, with systems such as transmissions, steam generation and brake shoes having different characteristics.
The driver can monitor outside temperatures on thermometers found in station offices.
