Tracks with IDs are station tracks with unique addresses. These addresses allow them to be referred to in delivery orders , as well as to navigate to them with station maps .
Other than in books, track IDs are also shown on physical signs. Track ID signs are pole-mounted structures found on the right side of the respective tracks, on their both ends, designed to inform of their ID. Regardless of the signs' position, however, the tracks span the entire section from switch to switch.
El último carácter en la identificación de la vía sirve para indicar el propósito de dicha vía. Puede ser:
I - Input
I – Entrada:
Aquí es donde llegan las entregas de transporte de mercancías.

Una vía con un andén desde donde acceden al tren los pasajeros y el correo.

Aquí es donde se estacionan los coches de pasajeros y coches motores.
