Vahinkomaksuihin tai kulutettuihin resursseihin liittyvien maksujen lisäksi on myös ympäristövaikutuksiin liittyviä maksuja. Esimerkiksi polttomoottorilla varustetut kiskoajoneuvot saastuttavat ympäristöä jo pelkästään käynnissä olemalla. Ne niputetaan yhteen kyseisen ajoneuvon maksujen kanssa.
