Proximity sensor is a two-part gadget system that helps shunt or prevent collisions by alerting of proximity of obstacles in the way of a train.
The interface unit, featuring settings and information, is meant to be installed in a cab of the main motorized vehicle. The sensor unit is meant to be placed on a coupler at either end of the train.
The gadget features settings to let the driver specify the desired distance alert threshold, as well as channels for separating the signals in case multiple sensors are used, one for each end of the train.
The interface unit of this gadget requires electrical connections to function.
