Career is a game mode that revolves around progression. In it, you start with basic equipment and need to complete delivery orders by driving trains , provided by the company you work for , in order to earn money and obtain new licenses and items , all the while trying to minimize fees .

When creating a career session, you can select to be given a tutorial that introduces you to the game's basics.

To complete the career, you are tasked to acquire all available licenses . Additionally you may also strive for other goals, such as to buy all items , or restore all demonstrators .

Initially you may only select among the default difficulty presets for your career sessions. After making minor progress, however, you are free to select custom difficulty presets, too.

To help with playing career mode, you may want to familiarize yourself with the train driving efficiency guidelines .

Alternatively, there is also a sandbox mode .
