Difficulty in Derail Valley is defined by many individual parameters, collectively called presets. These parameters may be viewed in difficulty editor, accessible from the “sessions” section of the main menu, where they are described in more detail via hover tooltips.

Стандартний - складний і динамічний, вимагає роздумів, але не надто караючий.
Реалістичний - складний і невблаганний, вимагає високої концентрації уваги.

Користувачі також можуть створювати власні пресети складності та ділитися ними.
