Utility vehicles are work trains used to transport train parts . There are two types of them:

Utility Short Flatcar is a short car that is acquired together with the museum when buying the Museum license .

Utility Rail Vehicle, also known as DM1U-150 , is a modified, quick, diesel-mechanical railcar . To become available, this vehicle needs to be unlocked from a special garage, with a key that can be bought in one of the shops .

Once unlocked, the utility vehicles can be requested with the comms radio , for a fee , depending on the session difficulty settings . The Utility Rail Vehicle can receive damage , consumes fuel and needs to be manually serviced , while the Utility Short Flatcar cannot be damaged and it doesn't have service costs.
