In case of an accident, where completing an order isn’t feasible by rerailing or getting a helper locomotive, it is possible to cancel an order altogether. However, this should only be done when absolutely necessary, as even with completely destroyed freight the order will still pay for the delivery in full, which may help offset the rerailing and fee costs.
To cancel an order, the driver needs to throw the delivery order book to a trash bin or a dumpster at a station office. Orders are also canceled when at least one of its cars are removed using the comms radio’s clear function.
