Starting essential items , such as those provided by DVRT , are given permanently reserved slots in the inventory . Every such slot features a button with a star icon on it that, when clicked, retrieves the respective item back to inventory, no matter where it is in the world. This is useful if such an item gets lost.
If a non-essential item gets lost it doesn't have the retrieve button, however, and needs to be looked for in the tool shed .
