Difficulty in Derail Valley is defined by many individual parameters, collectively called presets. These parameters may be viewed in difficulty editor, accessible from the “sessions” section of the main menu, where they are described in more detail via hover tooltips.
A játékban három alap nehézségi fokozat található. Mindegyiket úgy tervezték, hogy azok eltérő élményt nyújtsanak:
Kényelmes - Nyugis, megbocsátó és lehetővé teszi a számos kényelmi funkció és segítség használatát.
