World map is an item that shows the entire railway network of Derail Valley, along with stations, service points and shops. The map legend in the lower-left corner of the map explains how to differentiate them.
On the map the station names are abbreviated to standardized codes. Expanded version of the map found in station offices features a legend, listing their full names.
Depending on the session difficulty settings, your position and orientation can be marked by a cyan arrow on the map, and motorized rail vehicles by yellow arrows. Alternatively, a compass can be used to navigate.
