整備費用の支払いによる整備は、キャリア管理機に、特定の車両に関連付けられた整備費用を支払うことによって行われます。支払いが完了すると、留置場所に関係なく、即座に対応車両が完全に整備されます。この方法での整備には手動整備の 2倍の費用がかかりますが、運転士に対してあらかじめ決められた自己負担金を超える部分は保険でカバーされます。運転士のキャリアの初期段階では、自己負担金が低いので、手動整備より整備費用を支払う整備の方が安くなります。
この方法で修理すると、車両の電源が OFF になり、制御状態がデフォルトの状態にリセットされ、手ブレーキがかかります。
